30 Jan. 2018 | Non-profit law update: important changes to come for (international) non-profit associations
We will discuss some of the main recent decisions rendered by Belgian courts.
As you know, the reform of the Belgian Companies Code will also be implemented shortly. The law on non-profit entities will be structurally integrated in the new Belgian Companies and Associations Code. The seminar will look into some of the most important changes to come.
We will finally give an outline of the VAT status of non-profit associations and their VAT compliance challenges. The seminar will provide tips on how non-profit associations could organise themselves to minimise VAT leakage and will cover the latest VAT developments, in particular regarding the VAT exemption for cost sharing groups.
The purpose is to enable you to ensure that your association is familiar and in compliance with its main legal obligations and is prepared for future developments in the “non-profit” sector.
The seminar will be given by the Loyens & Loeff “non-profit” team. The support offered by Loyens & Loeff to non-profit (professional) associations is multi-disciplinary. We offer a full range of practical assistance relevant to your field of activity, including in the sphere of tax law, labour law, competition law, contract law, intellectual property law and data protection law. This multidisciplinary and varied reservoir of experience makes Loyens & Loeff an ideal partner for constituting an association or foundation and optimising its operation with complete confidence.
